Supercomputing in India : ウィキペディア英語版 | Supercomputing in India
India's supercomputer program was started in late 1980s because Cray supercomputers were denied for import due to an arms embargo imposed on India, as it was a dual use technology and could be used for developing nuclear weapons. PARAM 8000 is considered India's first supercomputer. It was indigenously built in 1990 by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing and was replicated and installed at ICAD Moscow in 1991 under Russian collaboration.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=C-DAC furthering ties with ICAD, Moscow: From PARAM 8000 to PARAM 10000 )〕 ==INDIA's Rank in Top500== As of June 2015, India has 11 systems on the Top500 list ranking 79, 96, 116, 174, 194, 200, 211, 215, 265, 278 and 422.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Top500 List -June 2015 )〕
